SADI-S Procedure

SADI-S

The Single Anastomosis Duodeno-Ileal Switch, or SADI-S, represents the forefront of bariatric surgery, meticulously designed to ensure effective weight loss while minimizing potential surgical complications.

The SADI-S procedure unfolds in two primary stages: stomach restriction and intestinal rerouting.

Stage One: Stomach Restriction

Our expert surgeons begin by creating a ‘sleeve’ in the stomach, a process also known as sleeve gastrectomy. This sleeve restricts the amount of food the stomach can hold, promoting an early sense of fullness and thereby reducing caloric intake.

Stage Two: Intestinal Rerouting

Next, the surgeons perform a partial bypass of the small intestine. They create a direct pathway or ‘anastomosis’ from the end part of the stomach (the duodenum) to a portion of the small intestine known as the ileum. This rerouting alters the way the body absorbs nutrients, contributing further to weight loss.
